Admission

If you had a procedure in one of our facilities and need more time to recuperate, we want you to continue your care with us. Progressive Care Center should be your first choice.

We provide skilled nursing and subacute care for a wide variety of patients who are referred to us by case managers and physicians in the Willis Knighton network. We also admit patients from other local and regional health systems, including Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Christus Highland, but priority is given to referrals from the Willis Knighton network.

Patients admitted to our facility typically need close medical supervision and 24-hour care on a short-term basis (typically two to four weeks*).

We accept patients who are:

  • Facing medically complex conditions, including those who are recovering from surgery, as well as those who require wound care or physical therapy. Access to dialysis, including transportation, is also provided. (Note: Exceptions are made for those who have a new PEG tube or extended cancer treatments.)
  • Age 18 or older
  • Usually able to follow commands
  • Able to make significant functional improvement
  • Usually able to tolerate and willing to participate in daily therapy

*Patients may apply for Medicaid in order to extend their stay at PCC.

Progressive Care Center is dedicated to making the people in our community healthier with best-in-class practices and unmatched compassion.
